Date: 10/1/15
Time: 5:00 PM
Location: Capen Basement
Attendees: Dan Chelius, Dwight Robinson, Emilie Reynolds, Paul Stathis
The purpose of this meeting was to do the final compilation of Memo 1. This required a review of each section, proof reading for errors and grammar. We also needed to finish the gantt chart and product design specification. The gantt chart was easily derived from the WBS chart. The product design specifications required more of a decision making process. This section was basically a summary of all the decisions that were made throughout this memo.
I took on the job of writing the product design specification. First i described the intended function of our product, which is to allow wheelchair users to shovel snow. Next the customer requirements were listed in order of importance. This list was established in the customer needs section. I specified certain engineering characteristics that related to our house of quality. Finally I discussed all of the design requirements including physical and operation characteristics along with production characteristics.
The reviewing and editing process took much longer then expected and I ended up staying up very late finalizing everything. Little things such as assigning page numbers to the table of contents and checking font sizes. These mundane formatting tasks are extremely tedious but necessary in order to produce a quality finished product. I do not believe in submitting any assignment unless I can take pride in the final product.
So after a very long night, I was satisfied with our final product and comfortable submitting it. I decided to print the document on my personal color printer for economic reasons. Our final memo 1 is shown below.
