Today was out first group meeting of the semester. The purpose of this meeting was to begin brainstorming ideas for Mini Project #1. With the deadline for Memo #1 rapidly approaching (9/28), we need to decide on a product ASAP. We basically started by throwing out all sorts of ideas, and then began to filter out the less practical ones. In the end we were able to build a list of five ideas to pitch to Professor Rai. These ideas included:
As a group we were pretty discouraged after out meeting, it's time to go back to the drawing board! Although Professor Rai did not accept any of our ideas, he did give us valuable advice with the brainstorming process. His advice was to focus on the problem, not the solution. The most successful products in the world today solve a problem.
We left with our newfound knowledge and decided to start individually brainstorming new product ideas that focused on solving a problem. The plan is to meet up tomorrow with ideas to share with each other.
